Author Support – Siryn Sueng

I’m going to try and do a daily blog post sharing my appreciation to some wonderful authors I’ve come to know lately! They’re all going to be from my #WRITEboyslove family (over on Twitter) and I can’t wait for you to get to know them too!

Today’s post is all about Siryn Sueng. I asked them 4 questions (the same I’ve asked everyone), and here are their answers!

Tell us a bit about yourself:

Hi! My name is Siryn Sueng (Siryn like the mythical siren’s that sang to sailors.) I’m bisexual, married to a wonderful loving husband and mother to a wild 3 year old who takes far too much after me. I have two kitties named Anubis and Kida and a wonderful husky puppy named Mishka.

Now tell us about your stories:

I’ve been writing for the better part of my life and just recently was able to actually begin doing it for a living. I injured myself about 3 years ago while on the job and have not been able to return to work since then. I tore a tendon and ligaments in my ankle and I’ve had issues ever since. In addition to writing my own stuff I enjoy co-writing as well. I have written with a handful of friends and even have one published with my publisher, Deep Desires Press. I’d love to do more collaborations in the future and perhaps one day I will. Chocolate is the way to my heart, and coffee is my staple food item!

Share an amusing event that happened to you:

This was years ago. Back in college. My husband (fiancé then) and I went out on a hike in California. Gorgeous place, we were packed for an entire day of hiking through the woods. There was a waterfall we were going to go see. My husband has this habit where when we’re hiking, he touches literally everything. Every tree, every bush, every branch.

As per his usual, he was doing the same thing on this trip. He’s ahead of me because he walks faster than I do and I’m just taking my time. Enjoying the scenery, making sure I don’t have an asthma attack right. Well, my husband picks up this huge stick and just carries it for a while.

About ten or so minutes after he’s picked up this stick, I feel this sharp horrid sting on my ass. I’m like what the hell was that? So, naturally, I brush at it. And that’s when I find two other wasps curled up on me, trying to sting and bite through my jacket.

I’m not sure how I managed to not scream hysterically and run away, but I got my husbands attention. He helped get the bee’s off and as we continue on the trail, we notice that we are literally being attacked. They keep coming. No matter what we do. So, we cut out trip short and high tail it – literally – back to our truck.

By the time we get there, my husband has about 5 bee’s attached to his backpack that I have to smack off him with a stick before we can get in the vehicle. My ass hurt so bad from that initial bite that we had to stop on the way home and get ice for me. So I rode back home with an icepack on my ass.
